Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains
Fart noise. When Sebastian Grainger and Jesse Keeler split from Death From Above 79, they went their separate musical ways, and while Keeler went on to form MSTRKRFT and got the dancehalls thumping, Sebastien has decided to try out some rock n’ roll with folky turns, and dabble with the occasional lame attempt at stadium rock jams. ‘Tis a sad display of rock n’ roll mediocrity that makes me yawn and wish that I could erase this album’s sadness from my mind and store receipt. Like a present in a big box that turns out to be a moldy turd, beware the taint of this album’s ensuing stink. I can only imagine that the Mountains, whoever the hell they are, were excited to work with Sebastien and then sadly disappointed with what they were made to do, to the point that when they went home and their roommate or loved one asked him how it went, they could only shake their heads, raise a leg, and make the appropriate noise.
